Free Hangman SVG File

You will need to download the SVG file first in order to upload it to your Cricut machine. The file has the word “hangman” as well as the stand to hang your stick man. The file does not have the rounded corner rectangle that I used for the acrylic. I just found a standard shape in Cricut Design Space for that. You can let me know if you have issues finding a shape that works. For now, sign up for our newsletter below to get the hangman cut file.

Please remember that the cut file is for personal use only. You can contact me if you have any issues. The cut file will download as a zip file and you will need to unzip in order to upload to your Cricut. You can see more about how to do that here.

How to Create a Hangman Game:

Now that you have your SVG file, you can use it to make your game. Upload the file to your Cricut then follow the instructions below. You can actually watch the video below to see just how to make this fun family game.

Can’t watch the video or missed some of the steps? I have a written set of instructions for you below as well. You can also pin or print these instructions for later.

  • .020 Acrylic Sheet
  • Black adhesive vinyl
  • Free hangman SVG download below
  • Knife blade
  • Weeding tools optional
  • Clipboard
  • Transfer tape

The entire family will love playing this fun game. I did realize, however, that there may be some of you out there that do not how to play hangman. So, I thought I would go through the basics.

How to Play Hangman

  • Think of a word or short phrase. Determine how many letters it will take to spell it. Add that number of dashes to the bottom of your board. Add spaces where applicable.
  • The other players start to guess letters of the alphabet. If the letter is in your word, add it to the correct blank space or spaces on your word/phrase.
  • If the letter is NOT in your word, you start drawing your man. Start with a head for the first miss, a body for the second, then continue to arms and legs. Once you have an entire man, the game is over! You win as they did not guess your word.
  • If they guess the word correctly before the man is drawn, they win!

So easy and fun!
